Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work with our closest living relatives? Would you like to help us care for chimpanzees thus conserving and preserving the species?
Chimpanzee numbers are rapidly declining in the wild, they may be extinct within the next 10 – 20 years if current trends cannot be reversed. Although chimpanzees are not native to South Africa our goal is to care for chimpanzees that have survived the bush meat trade, been orphaned, traded in the illegal pet market, or rescued from entertainment in circuses, beach resorts and night clubs. JGI-Chimp Eden brings the world of chimpanzees closer to humanity through education end eco-tourism.
Volunteers are a crucial part of our organization and we want you to join our team and become one of our chimpanzee conservation ambassadors!
Work alongside our knowledgeable staff preparing diets, cleaning animal enclosures, making daily enrichment, maintenance work around facility as needed, photography, behavioural observations and much more!
We accept all local and international volunteers for this once in a lifetime opportunity to work closely (hands-off) with our 33 chimpanzees and get to know all of their unique personalities. Chimp Eden is a non-profit organization therefore your volunteer fee goes directly into the care of the chimpanzees and running of our facility.
