Chimp Guardianship Programme

The Chimp Eden Guardianship Programme enables individuals and organisations around the world to become a guardian of the chimpanzees who call JGI SA Chimp Eden home. You can become a guardian of a chimp for a 12 month period by choosing any of the chimps at the sanctuary. You can also take any number of chimpanzees into your care. The funds which are raised through the chimpanzee guardianship programme will be used for the welfare of the chimpanzees and the daily operations of the sanctuary.

Ways to become a guardian?

At the sanctuary

1. Ask at reception or your guide about the guardianship programme.
2. Fill in your form after meeting the chimps at Chimp Eden.
3. Choose a chimpanzee from our three family groups.
4. Select a Chimp Guardianship package (Kiddies, Bronze, Thabu, Silver, Gold, and Diamond) level.
5. Pay at reception and the form will be processed at the sanctuary.

1. Visit the Jane Goodall Institute South Africa Chimpanzee Sanctuary Website (http://www.chimpeden.com/) or the Jane Goodall Institute South Africa Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/JGISA)
2. Click on adopt a chimp.
3. Select the amount that corresponds to the package level that you will require.
4. Add the chimp’s name that you would like to become a guardian of or if it is done as a gift, give the name to appear on the certificate, in the message of support section.
5. Follow the instructions provided.

*Please note that no gifts will be sent out when becoming a guardian online on a kiddies or bronze level.

Renewals

Renewals of all guardianship programme packages will attract a 10% discount. All renewals will include a certificate, facts about the chimp and photographs of the chimp you have decided to become a guardian of.
