Dr Jane Goodall will pay us a fleeting visit in early July. Her whistle-stop three-day trip will take in several JGI SA Roots & Shoots projects in Mpumalanga and Soweto, as well as a quick visit to JGI SA Chimpanzee Eden. She will also deliver a private fund-raising lecture at a luxury lodge bordering the Kruger National Park.
This remarkable world-renowned primatologist celebrated her 75th birthday in April and shows no sign of ever slowing down. She still spends most of her time lecturing, sharing her message of hope for the future and encouraging young people to make a difference in their world.
She has also just finished another book, to be published in North America on September 2, 2009. Entitled
Hope for Animals and Their World: How Endangered Species Are Being Rescued from the Brink, it was written by Jane with Thane Maynard and Gail Hudson
