We are currently building the
third night quarters building at the sanctuary
to house the Abu/ Amadeus/ Nikki family of
chimps. They will move to their magnificent new
enclosure as soon as the building is ready.

The new night
quarters will house Abu’s family
The Cozy/ Joao family,
consisting largely of youngsters, will move into
the middle enclosure, leaving the so-called baby
camp free to house our ten new chimps when they
leave quarantine.
Abu and
Amadeus from
Angola,
and Nikki from
Liberia,
were JGI SA Chimpanzee Eden’s original three
residents, moving in when the Sanctuary first
opened in March 2006.
The sleeping quarters are
currently being built at a cost of R300,000.00
(approx. $45,000.00).
We would dearly
love to get a sponsor to cover this cost.
In return, we can
offer naming rights for the new building – and
the knowledge that you have helped provide a
haven for man’s closest relative.
